Visiting the Center

The Social Sciences Research Building is located on the east side of campus at the intersection of E. Jefferson St. and N. Johnson St. Our building is just six blocks east of the Pentacrest and one block south of the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown.
There are four metered spaces on the south side of the building, and one metered space designated as accessible on the east side of the building. To use the metered spaces, download the ParkMobile app (Zone #5191). The rest of the lot is permitted parking only. Additional metered and free parking spaces are available on nearby streets.
Guests can access our building during business hours (Monday-Friday; 8:00AM-5:00PM) through our intercom system at Entrance 2 (ENT 2) on the east side of the building. To request entry, please press “Main Office.” If there is no answer from the Main Office, please press “Admin Suite” second and “Call Center” third. If you experience any technical difficulties, please call the Main Office (319-335-6800) and our staff will assist.
