In the process of turning your research into a published peer-reviewed paper? Struggling to find the time to write? Need some structure and a quiet space to focus?

Write on Target is a writers' circle that provides a structured and distraction-free environment for faculty, research staff, and graduate students drafting social science research manuscripts for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Participants enroll for eight-week periods in which they will meet once a week for one and a half hours at the Social Sciences Research Building, Room 104. During that time, participants will set small writing goals and work independently in quiet breakout workspaces with computer desks and terminals. At the end of each session, participants will provide brief progress updates to the group.

Ethan Rogers, PhD will facilitate this writers circle.

"Write on Target really helped me focus on the ultimate 'target' and fostered an encouraging environment that allowed me to break out of my shell and actually finish the manuscript on time. Additionally, just knowing that someone would serve as a 'second pair of eyes' for my project helped me let go of my perfectionist tendencies. Write on Target is one of the best opportunities I found after joining the University of Iowa, and I wholeheartedly thank Ethan for this."
