Ethan Rogers, PhD
Ethan Rogers provides administrative oversight of the daily research and engagement operations of CSSI. In coordination with the director, he is responsible for aligning all center activities with its four core strategic priorities. Rogers joined the center in 2017 and served as an assistant research scientist from 2020 to 2023.
Rogers’ research is primarily focused on criminology, health, and criminal justice policy. His recent work explores topics including interpersonal disputes and conflict escalation, homicide trends, suicide among law enforcement officers, and the health consequences of adverse stressors across the life course. His research has been supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UI Injury Prevention Research Center, and the Healthier Workforce Center of the Midwest.
As part of CSSI’s mission to collaborate with external partners, Rogers provides consultation and research support to several local organizations and agencies, including the Johnson County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa City Police Department. He is currently leading a project to assess patterns in ICPD traffic stops.
