Biography
Miah Boyle is a PhD student in the department of Geographic and Sustainability Sciences. Boyle received her BS in Microbiology and Genetics from Iowa State University and her MPH from the University of Michigan. Prior to entering her current program, Boyle worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in clinical microbiology and molecular virology.
Boyle's research interests center around infectious diseases and identifying drivers of their genetic and spatial distribution through use of phylogenetic and GIS methodologies.
Boyle leads CSSI workshops that cover spatial data management, mapping, and analysis using ArcGIS and R.
