Jamil Marques, PhD
Teaching for both Communication and Political Science Departments for nearly 20 years has allowed Jamil to blend insights from Political Communication, Media Sociology, and Journalism Studies.
His experience mentoring undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. students involves encouraging them to work across theories and methods in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Jamil's ambition for excellence is translated by a solid record of research papers coauthored with his students. In addition to contributing as a reviewer for more than 90 academic outlets, Jamil has served the ICA's Journal of Communication as Associate Editor since 2022. He is also the Assistant Director of the Brazil-based National Institute of Science and Technology in Information Disputes and Sovereignty.
