Registration for the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Summer Program in Quantitative Methods is now open.
ICPSR is an entity that brings together academic institutions and research organizations across the globe, including the University of Iowa. The group aims to provide training in data access, curation, and analysis.
ICPR’s Summer Program in Quantitative Methods features opportunities for rigorous and comprehensive training in statistics and data analysis. Both online and in-person classes are available. Online classes can be attended synchronously via Zoom or asynchronously via lecture recordings. In-person workshops are hosted on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor.
The Summer Program offers two different course types:
Topical Workshops: These workshops provide instruction in a specific statistical technique or research method over the period of a week or two, amounting to either 20 or 40 classroom hours. The first topical workshop begins on May 19.
General Sessions: These comprehensive four-week sessions include four courses of intensive instruction in specific quantitative methods and statistical techniques, along with unlimited lectures during the first week of the session. The first general session runs from Monday, June 9th to Thursday, July 3rd. The second general session runs from Monday, July 7th to Friday, August 1st.
Individuals interested in participating in the general sessions are invited to apply for scholarships for the program. Each year, ICPSR offers more than $150,000 to defer the costs related to the program.
Applications for scholarships close on February 28th.
