College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Established in 1900, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is home to world-class programs in writing, the arts, space physics, speech and hearing science, and more, and faculty who undertake groundbreaking research, innovative scholarship, and daring creative work.

How We Partner: CSSI and CLAS have partnered to create the CSSI Faculty Research Fellowship, designed to support social scientists in CLAS. Fellows are released from teaching one course to concentrate on their research, bolstered by CSSI's provided resources, space, and staff guidance.

The University of Iowa Libraries is the largest library system in Iowa and includes seven branches, which are integrally connected with the academic, research, and creative endeavors at Iowa.

How We Partner: The University of Iowa libraries has curated a Iowa Research Online database, containing up-to-date research publications from our CSSI researcher affiliates.

Obermann Center

Obermann Center for Advanced Studies

The Obermann Center for Advanced Studies supports and connects scholars and artists across disciplines by providing a unique space and variety of programs. 

How We Partner: CSSI is currently co-sponsoring an Obermann International Fellowship in the Social Sciences. This fellowship will provide international researchers with the time, resources, and collegiate collaborations necessary to conduct innovative social science research at CSSI, along with the fellowship benefits bestowed by Obermann.

Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research promotes undergraduate involvement in research and creative projects by facilitating the mentorship of students and providing platforms for the young scholars to explore research communication. 

How We Partner: Each year, CSSI supports undergraduate students who are engaging in high-impact social science research projects and are funded through the Office of Undergraduate Research.
